Former Bedono Village Head Becomes Suspect Of Semarang-Demak Toll Project

The police have named a man with the initials AS as a suspect in alleged fraud and embezzlement in the sale and purchase of land for the Semarang-Demak Toll Road project.

The Head of the Special Crimes Unit of the Semarang Polrestabes AKP Johan Widodo said that the suspect, who is the former Bedono Village Head (Kades) in Demak Regency, Central Java (Central Java), was suspected of receiving a sum of money for issuing a village C letter for a land of about 1 hectare (ha) to be traded.

He explained that the incident began with a woman with the initials T who is suspected of being a land broker who will sell a plot of land with an area of about 1 ha in Bedono Village in 2020.

T residents of Genuk, Semarang City, who have also been named as suspects, he continued, asked the US to create land C village as a statement that the land to be sold was not in dispute.

"T then sold the land to a resident of Semarang for Rp800 million," he said in Semarang, Tuesday, August 20, which was confiscated by Antara.

He explained that the sale and purchase transaction was carried out in front of a notary in Semarang City.

According to him, the problem arose when the land sold was actually affected by the Semarang-Demak toll road project.

In the process of paying compensation, he continued, the money paid by the toll road project implementer was not paid to the buyer of the land.

He explained that the compensation money was paid to someone who is the owner of a land certificate registered in BPN.

"The victim, who felt that the money for the purchase of his land was not returned by the suspect, then reported it to the police," he said.

For their actions, the two suspects were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud or Article 374 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement.
