Surabaya District Court Judge Ronald Tannur Free Sentence Examined By KY

The attorney for the late Dini Dira Afriyanti, Dimas Yemahurur Al Farauq, showed evidence of photos of the alleged murder of his client after undergoing examination at the Judicial Commission (KY) Building, Jakarta, Thursday (8/8/2024).

The Judicial Commission stated that it had examined the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court (PN), East Java who sentenced the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur (GRT) in the murder case of Dini Sera Afrianti.

KY member and spokesman Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata explained that the examination took place at the Surabaya High Court, Monday.

"KY has examined the panel of judges at the Surabaya District Court in Case Number 454/Pid.B/2024/PN Sby regarding the verdict of the acquittal against the defendant GRT, Monday," Mukti said through a press release received in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 20.

Mukti explained that the summons to the panel of judges was the right to be responsible for the alleged violation of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) reported by the family of Dini Sera Afrianti.

However, Mukti could not explain the examination material because the examination was closed and only used for ethical examination purposes.

"This examination aims to find out whether there are allegations of violations of the judge's ethics and behavior or not," he said.

On the other hand, Public Relations of the Surabaya High Court Bambang Kustopo, when confirmed in Surabaya, East Java, Monday said that the panel of judges examined were Erintuah Damanik with Mangapul and Heru Hanindyo.

The examination was carried out by a number of investigators from the Judicial Commission at around 11.00 WIB. Bambang emphasized that during the examination, his party only limited to facilitating the place, while the examination was carried out alone by a team from KY.

When asked who was being questioned apart from the three judges, Bambang admitted that he did not know anything. However, he confirmed that only the three judges were still being investigated.

"(The examinee) that I heard about his assembly (Erituah Damanik, Mangapul, and Heru Hanindyo)," he said when confirmed in Surabaya, East Java, Monday.

Previously, Monday (29/7), Dini Sera's father and sister who were accompanied by their attorneys, Dimas Yemaburah, and Rieke politician Diah Pitaloka registered reports of alleged violations of KEPPH to KY.

The complainant believes that there is a contradiction between the indictment and the demands and the results of the panel of judges' considerations. Therefore, the reporter wants KY to examine alleged violations of the KEPPH and impose a recommendation for dismissal of the three judges who decided the case.

"We ask that KY can provide the best recommendation, namely our hope is the termination of the judge who examined this case at the Surabaya District Court. That is our hope," said Dimas Yemahaburu.
