PKB Sowan's Syuro Council To A Number Of Kiai Ahead Of The Congress

JAKARTA - The Shura Council of the Central Executive Board of the National Awakening Party (PKB) conducted sowan to a number of kiai ahead of the congress on August 24-25, 2024 in Bali.

The group led by the Secretary of the PKB DPP Shura Council, Saifullah Maksum, Maman Imanulhaq, Syihabuddin Ahmad, Gus Baidhowi, Mahasin, and Ahid visited Kiai Zamzami Mahrus at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School, Kediri, East Java.

Zamzami hopes that the PKB conflict with the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board can be resolved soon. PBNU is considered not to have the right to interfere in PKB affairs as a political party protected by the constitution.

Then, the group visited Kiai Asep Saifuddin Chalim in Surabaya, East Java, and visited Kiai Cholil Asad in Situbondo.

At the meeting held at Wali Songo Situbondo Islamic Boarding School, Cholil advised that PKB should not need to carry out political maneuvers carried out by PBNU leaders.

Cholil then asked PKB to focus on political work that could have an impact on the benefit of the people, especially the nahdliyin people.

"Not responding does not mean silence, but PKB must continue to fight for the truth in its realm as a political party," he said.

Next, the group visited the Sabiilul Rosyad Islamic Boarding School led by Kiai Marzuki Mustamar. On that occasion, Marzuki expressed disappointment over the conflict between PKB and PBNU.

Finally, the PKB DPP Shura Council group visited the residence of Kiai Musthofa Bisri or Gus Mus in Rembang, Central Java.

"Everyone hopes that the PKB Congress will run smoothly, and can produce a PKB struggle platform according to the direction of the elders and kiai NU. PKB from NU for Indonesia", said Deputy Secretary of the DPP KB Shura Council Maman Imanulhaq.
