BOSTON - The shooting near the Boston festival, Massachusetts, United States, resulted in five people being injured. Police are looking for the shooter

The shooting took place Sunday night at Franklin Park when the Dominica festival ended. Police said three men and two women suffered gunshot wounds.

"We need to hold these people accountable, whether it's individuals or individuals responsible for this heinous act, you know, shootings at the crowd," Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox told reporters.

Cox said police heard gunshots. Authorities directed pedestrians out of the park. Police did not receive any updates on Monday, including whether there was more than one shooter.

"The shooting really damaged a pretty successful event for the people here," Cox said.

"We will hold them accountable, which is why we need community help and support in this, but this shouldn't be the case in our city, not in today's times," he continued.

The shooting came when Boston was praised for reducing violent crimes in the past year. Last year, there were 37 murder cases and so far there have been only 10 cases.
