PDIP Challenges Ridwan Kamil-Suswono To Dare To Fight Empty Boxes In The Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat challenged the candidate pair for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil-Suswono, to dare to fight the empty box.

Bearing in mind, Ridwan Kamil and Suswono are now being promoted by 12 political parties of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) plus. There are no other political parties such as PDIP that can advance competing cagubs because the number of supporting seats is insufficient.

"Deklarasi (Ridwan Kamil-Suswono) kalau itu terjadi, maka PDI Perjuangan secara otomatis tidak bisa mencalonkan diri. Kalau begtu, kami tantangan apakah berani pasangan yang deklarasi dengan mmborong semua partai itu melawan kotak kotong kosong? Ya, melawan kotong kotong kosong. Let's see," ungkap Djarot di kantor DPP PDIP, Jakarta Pusat, Senin, 19 Agustus.

Currently, there is an independent Jakarta cagub-cawagub pair who will register with the KPU, namely Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana. Dharma-Kun has the opportunity to fight Ridwan Kamil-Suswono in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

PDIP also suspects that Dharma-Kun's candidacy is a scenario created by Ridwan Kamil-Suswono's camp as an alternative opponent to prevent losing opportunities to empty boxes.

However, Djarot reminded that currently Dharma-Kun has stumbled upon a case of alleged citizen NIK profiteering unilaterally to support him.

"Or this will be passed by an independent candidate as a potential doll, yes, because there are so many, yes, this is input from residents who feel or prove that their ID cards were stolen, this has been a serious violation in my opinion," said Djarot.

On the one hand, Djarot emphasized that it is not appropriate for the nomination of regional heads in the Jakarta gubernatorial election to be regulated for personal interests. This is because the Jakarta regional election is a barometer for national-scale elections.

"So we challenge it. Let's stand firmly that the PDI-P will take action against anyone who destroys or who makes democracy unhealthy in the city of the Special Region of Jakarta, where Jakarta becomes a magnet, an example of Indonesian politics," he said.
