Djarot About Jokowi Apologizes: Normal Things, The Important Thing Is Policy Must Be Accounted For

Chairman of the PDIP DPP Djarot Saiful Hidayat assessed that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) apology at the MPR Annual Session, the DPR-DPD Joint Session, and the 2024 DPR Plenary Session were normal and normal.

"I was once the mayor, deputy governor, an apology for executive administrators is normal and normal," said Djarot, Friday, August 16.

Not only an apology, the former governor of DKI Jakarta assessed that Jokowi should also be able to account for the policies he had made. Thus, he said, the public can judge whether it is a natural thing or not.

What is even more important is that the policies that have been made must be accounted for so that the people who can judge it are a natural, normal thing. That's the ethics of a government like that," explained Djarot.

As previously reported, President Joko Widodo is clearly aware of his imperfections and personal limitations as well as the possibility of acting wrongly in leading Indonesia over the past ten years.

"I am well aware that as a person far from perfect words, as a human being who grows in all limitations, and as a human being who is far from special words, it is very possible that some may escape my view; very likely there is a gap in the steps I take, very likely a lot of negligence in me," Jokowi said in his speech at the MPR, DPR, and DPD Annual Sessions.

"Therefore, at the end of this term of office, allow me to convey my deepest conscience to you, ladies and gentlemen of the Nation and throughout the country of water, to all Indonesian people, not one exception.

"I and Prof. Dr. (HC) KH Ma'ruf Amin apologize; apologize to any heart that may be disappointed, for any hope that may not be realized, for any ideals that may not yet be able to be reached," he said.
