Anies Accepts NasDem's Decision To Cancel In The DKI Gubernatorial Election, Surya Paloh: Great It Was Him

Chairman of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, praised Anies Baswedan's attitude in accepting his party's decision regarding the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

NasDem confirmed that he would cancel carrying Anies Baswedan back as a candidate for governor of Jakarta.

"He can accept that, there is no problem for him," said Surya Paloh, Friday, August 16.

Paloh believes that Anies is not disappointed with the decision made by NasDem regarding his candidacy in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

Paloh also praised the attitude of the former governor of Jakarta. According to him, Anies is a mature and great younger brother.

"No (disappointed), I think he is quite mature, my little brother, he is great," said Paloh.

Previously, the General Chairperson of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh, emphasized that his party had canceled its support for Anies Baswedan to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

Paloh emphasized this after meeting with the General Chair of the Gerindra Party as well as the elected President for the 2024-2029 period, Prabowo Subianto at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara IV, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 15.

"Yes, it is clear (the batal carries Anies)," said Paloh.

Paloh claimed to have informed Anies regarding the cancellation of the investigation for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. He said, 2024 was not the right moment for Anies to run and participate in the Jakarta Pilkada contestation

"I have informed Mr. Anies. Mr. Anies, as your younger brother, this is not your moment to run in the Greater Jakarta regional elections. We are looking for a more precise momentum in the future. There is an understanding," he said.
