JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded the Mataram City DPRD to be careful in managing the budget, especially those related to the basic thought grant (pokir). Do not let there be collusion that leads to corrupt practices. This was conveyed by the Head of the KPK Region V Korsup Task Force Dian Patria in the Socialization of Corruption Prevention at the APBD Planning and Budgeting Stage at the Mataram City DPRD, Thursday, August 15 yesterday. Legislators must ensure that all budget proposals go through a transparent planning process that meets the needs of the people. "Don't let the council play around there, have aspirations, conflicts of interest, pokir insertions," Dian said as quoted from the institution's official statement, Friday, August 16. Dian alluded to the findings of the Financial Audit Agency (BPK) which stated that there were allegations of corruption from the main ideas (pokir) through grants of up to Rp. 2.7 billion. "So we remind that in the planning stage we must think about the interests of the community, not insert personal interests," he said. Furthermore, the anti-corruption commission hopes that this socialization can serve as a warning to legislators in Mataram City. “ By avoiding the Poir insertion, we can ensure that the prepared budget truly reflects the needs and priorities of the community and is free from potential abuse, "” said Dian. Meanwhile, the Temporary Chairperson of the Mataram City DPRD Abdul Malik claimed that he would prioritize the principle of transparency and accountability in managing the budget.
