JAKARTA - The Israeli military carried out airstrikes against Palestinian militants in the occupied West Bank. Hamas said its fighters were involved in fierce clashes with Israeli forces in the city of Tubas in the region.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported one person was killed in an attack in Tubas, while four others were killed in an Israeli drone strike in the nearby town of Tammun.
His party did not reveal their identities, but the residents of Tubas said the man who was killed there was a member of the Hamas Islamic group.
"As part of counterterrorism activities, aircraft attacked a number of armed terrorists in Tammun," the Israeli military said.
