Not Submitting Exceptions, Harvey Moeis Asks For Direct Evidence

JAKARTA - Harvey Moeis stated that he would not file an exception or objection note in the case of alleged corruption in the management of tin commodity trading in the mining business permit (IUP) area of PT Timah Tbk 2015 to 2022 which caused state losses of Rp300 trillion.

Sandra Dewi's husband actually asked the panel of judges to immediately set a trial with a proof agenda.

"I understand the indictment, and I ask permission to proceed to the next stage, if it is allowed to go to the evidentiary stage," said Harvey Moeis during a trial at the Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday, August 14.

Hearing this statement, Chief Judge Eko Aryanto emphasized Harvey Moies' decision by questioning whether to file an exception or not.

Sandra Dewi's husband loudly stated that he did not want to file a note of objection to the indictment of the public prosecutor (JPU).

"Not applying for an exception?" asked Judge Eko.

"Yes, Your Honor, we did not file an exception," Harvey replied.

"Not submitting an exception, starting with continuing to the evidentiary stage from the prosecutor," said Judge Eko.

Judge Eko then turned to the prosecutor and questioned the number of witnesses who would be presented at the evidentiary stage.

"I asked the public prosecutor how many witnesses are there in the minutes?" asked Judge Eko.

"The total number of witnesses is 168, Your Honor," said the prosecutor.

Meanwhile, Harvey Moeis was charged with being involved in the alleged corruption in tin governance which caused a loss of Rp. 300 trillion.

Thus, in this case Harvey Moeis was charged with Article 2 paragraph (1) and Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Anti-Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1st of the Criminal Code and Article 3 of 2010 concerning Money Laundering.
