Idrus Marham Claims 34 DPD Golkar Support Bahlil Forward Ketum

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Election Winning Board (Bappilu) of the Golkar Party DPP, Idrus Marham, claimed that 34 regional leadership councils (DPD) of the provincial-level Golkar Party supported Bahlil Lahadalia running for chairman (Ketum) replacing Airlangga Hartarto.

The support, according to Idrus, was conveyed by Golkar leaders in 34 provinces by letter, but the letter he meant could not be shown to the public.

"(The letter) is definitely there. Why? Because, these heads are my younger siblings, also talk to me," said Idrus Marham as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 13.

Idrus continued to answer their reasons for supporting Bahlil, including his track record and work, his cadres are clear, his achievements and communication, and he is also believed to be an adhesive figure who is able to unite various differences.

Regarding Bahlil's membership status and the condition for him to run for general chairman, Idrus ensured that Bahlil was still active as a Golkar Party cadre and met the requirements.

"Try to contact Bahlil now, there must be a KTA (member card) in his pocket. I guarantee that," said Idrus.

He also emphasized that Bahlil had been the administrator of the DPD 1 Papuan Golkar Party as treasurer. "That was Bahlil, when I was secretary general and general chairman of Aburizal Bakrie, we had SK as treasurer of DPD 1 Papua Province Golkar Party," he said.

Therefore, Idrus ensured that Bahlil met the requirements to run for chairman in the extraordinary national deliberation of the Golkar Party, whose schedule will be determined by the Golkar Party's plenary meeting tonight.
