JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump insists Iran will allow nuclear inspectors into the country despite Tehran's denials.

Trump said the nuclear inspectors would be on the ground "at the appropriate time."

Speaking to reporters, Trump dismissed Iran's claim that there was no scheduled visit for inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), although US Vice President JD Vance had previously announced that Iran had agreed to allow nuclear inspectors to re-enter the country.

"They're wrong. They're wrong. They know they're wrong," Trump said. "They've told us internally and we're 100 percent sure, there will be an inspection," he continued, quoted by ANTARA from Anadolu, Wednesday, June 24.

"If they are right, I will cancel those meetings right now," he added.

When asked when the inspectors would be allowed to enter Iran, Trump replied, "At the right time. There is no need to rush."

"We are making an incredible deal with Iran. We are making a deal that will keep our country and the world safe, because we will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons, and they know that, and they agree with that," Trump said.

Meanwhile, Vice President JD Vance on Monday (22/6) said Iran had agreed to allow nuclear inspectors to return to the country.

However, Iran's Foreign Ministry denied making any new commitments regarding its nuclear program or international inspections.

Separately, in a speech in Pennsylvania, Trump reiterated that Iran had agreed to "never have nuclear weapons."

"We left them with no nuclear capability whatsoever, and they've agreed to that. Our relationship is going very well. Although, if you read the fake news media, you'd never know it," Trump said.

"We have just reached a historic peace agreement with Iran to end the conflict in the Strait of Hormuz."

Trump also claimed a record 19 million barrels of oil crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
