LSI Survey: Then M Iqbal's Highest Electability In The NTB Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) released the results of an electability survey showing the name Lalu Muhamad Iqbal achieving the highest electability for the governor candidate exchange in the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Pilkada.

Executive Director of the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) Djayadi Hanan explained that his party conducted a survey in the period 16-24 July 2024 with a multistage random sampling sample use system against 800 respondents with a margin of error of 3.5 percent.

As a result, in the simulation survey, the three highest names showed Lalu Muhamad Iqbal's name reaching 22.4 percent electability, while the NTB Governor's Candidate Zulkieflimansyah won 21.5 percent and the last position was Sitti Rohmi Djalilah with 21 percent electability.

Not only conducting surveys for gubernatorial candidates, LSI also conducted a survey for the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor of NTB.

"As for the simulation of the couple, the candidate pair Lalu Muhammad Iqbal-Dhamayanti Putri is getting closer to the electability of Zulkieflimansyah-Suhaili. In the third position is filled by the pair Hj Sitti Rohmi Djalilah-Musyafirin," said Djayadi Hana in a press release reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.

It was recorded that the electability of the candidate pair Iqbal-Dinda had reached 24.3 percent, approaching the couple Zulkieflimansyah and Suhaili at 28.1 percent, while the Rohmi-Firin pair was at 19 percent.

"It has not exceeded statistically. But it is true that Pak Iqbal is already competitive, when facing the incumbent governor and deputy governor," he said.

Meanwhile, for the popularity category, Zulkieflimansyah is still in first place with 78.4 percent, followed by Rohmi with 73.9 percent, then Suhaili with 48.3 percent, and finally Iqbal with 43.5 percent.

Despite being in the lowest position in the popularity category, Djayadi assessed that the achievement of the Lalu Muhamad Iqbal figure was quite large for an incumbent challenger.

"Pak Iqbal as a newcomer shows himself as an incumbent challenger, both incumbent governor and with their respective partners. From the simulation of candidates and partners," he said.

With this achievement, it is possible that the pair Lalu Muhammad Iqbal and Dhamayanti Putri will defeat the incumbent in the race for the seat of governor and deputy governor of NTB.
