Airlangga Asks Bahlil To Take A Seat, Sri Mulyani Joins Nimbrung Canda Menteri Jokowi

Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia looked familiar before attending the plenary cabinet meeting chaired by President Joko Widodo in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

The moment occurred when the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet were having breakfast before attending the plenary cabinet session.

Airlangga Hartarto has just announced that he has resigned from the position of General Chair of the Golkar Party, while Bahlil is predicted to run as a candidate for chairman of the Golkar Party.

The two showed gestures of intimacy by embracing each other and pointing their thumbs up when they were invited to take pictures together.

After taking a group photo, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani invited Airlangga to chat with other ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

"Mr. Airlangga, talking about Mr. Airlangga, the problem is that if Mr. Airlangga is there, we will be photographed by reporters," Sri Mulyani said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.

Airlangga then asked Bahlil to withdraw the chair to join together.

"The question is to withdraw Mr. Bahlil. The position of the National Police Chief is just taken by Mr. Bahlil," said Airlangga, who was greeted by laughter from the ministers.

"The goods came in," replied Bahlil, who also laughed at Airlangga's joke.

Sri Mulyani again joked to Bahlil. "Last night he said'my voice was taken'," said Sri Mulyani.

"The goods came in," said Bahlil again.

Airlangga Hartarto, who was elected as General Chair of the Golkar Party DPP in 2019 for his term of office until the end of 2024, chose to resign early for two reasons, namely wanting to maintain the integrity of the Golkar Party and keep the atmosphere stable and conducive during the transition period of Joko Widodo's Presidency to Prabowo Subianto's government as the winner of the 2024 presidential election.

Until now, Airlangga has not explained further the reasons for maintaining the integrity of the party.
