PKS Leader Admits He Has Met Prabowo, Joins KIM Plus?

JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu admitted that the PKS leadership had met and communicated with the Elected President and General Chair of Gerindra, Prabowo Subianto.

"The PKS leadership has communicated with Mr. Prabowo Subianto as the elected president of the Republic of Indonesia in the 2024 presidential election," said Syaikhu at the PKS DPP Office, Simatupang Street, South Jakarta, Saturday, August 10. According to him, the PKS relationship with Prabowo has been established for a long time. Where in the past PKS supported the former Kopassus Danjen to compete in the 2014 presidential election and the 2019 presidential election. "Of course we understand that the PKS relationship with Pak Prabowo Subianto has been established since the 2019 Presidential Election and the previous 2014 Presidential Election," he said.

However, Syaikhu did not specify how the agreement between the two parties was, especially regarding the Jakarta Pilkada. Whether PKS will join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus and support Ridwan Kamil or not.

So Syaikhu only announced that the 11th PKS Syuro Council Deliberation today decided to continue communication with political party leaders as an effort to build a better Indonesia. Including with the political parties of KIM members and political parties outside KIM.

"Therefore, the 11th Syuro Council Deliberation mandates the PKS DPP to continue ongoing communication, both to party leaders, community leaders as an effort to build a better Indonesia," said Syaikhu.
