Hasto's Response To The Trial Efforts, Projo Values PDIP Difficulty Finding Coalition Partners In The Jakarta Pilkada

JAKARTA - DPP Projo responded to allegations by the Secretary-General of the PDI-P Hasto Kristiyanto regarding an attempt to tackle Anies Baswedan to run in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The General Treasurer of the Projo DPP, Panel Barus assessed that there was no attempt to tackle Anies to re-nominate as the Jakarta cagub. Instead, the Panel saw PDIP which had a bit of difficulty dealing with the Jakarta Pilkada, especially in finding coalition partners.

"So it's not an irregularity, we do see a situation where PDIP friends are having a hard time finding their coalition partners," said Panel at the Projo DPP office, Pancoran, South Jakarta, Friday, August 9.

Information recently stated that Anies would most likely fail to run for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. This is because PKS and PKB have the opportunity to join the Advanced Indonesia Coalition and support Ridwan Kamil as Jakarta governor.

Meanwhile, even though NasDem has officially brought it, a recommendation letter (SK) has not yet been issued for Anies.

"So it's not an tackle, the reality is like that, don't turn it around. Because all parties in carrying out political cooperation must calculate," said the Panel.

Previously, PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that he received a report regarding the alleged attempt to tackle Anies Baswedan in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. He said it could potentially not reflect a healthy democratic system.

"We have received reports that there are efforts to block the nomination of Anies Baswedan and anyone who is by a process that should be democratic, but when there are efforts to block certain candidates, our democratic life is not healthy," said Hasto in Central Jakarta, Thursday, August 8.

Hasto ensured that PDIP would continue to oversee the 2024 Pilkada contestation process so that it would run smoothly without any form of ambush to parties or any candidate. Because, according to him, every child of the nation has the constitutional right to be nominated.
