JAKARTA - Residents of Bekasi Regency, West Java were shocked by the discovery of the body of a baby boy in a cardboard box at the Claster Ivory illegal garbage dump, Villa Mutiara Cikarang Housing, Ciantra Village, South Cikarang District, Wednesday, March 24.

"Initially, a scavenger was accidentally found scavenging rubbish at the location where the baby was dumped", said South Cikarang Police Chief, Triesno, as reported by Antara.

Triesno said that when the baby's body was found, it was wrapped in a cardboard box covered with a blue cloth under the pile of garbage.

The scavengers who were surprised to see the baby's body then reported it to the local security officers.

"Based on the testimony of the witness who was on guard at the security post, he was approached by a scavenger who told him that at the dumpsite there was a baby's body dumped in a cardboard box", he said.

The police are currently still investigating the findings of the baby's corpse because, in the vicinity of the incident, officers were not found any clues that led to the baby's identity.

He suspected that the baby was deliberately dumped by an irresponsible person due to the alleged premature condition of the baby.

"If you look at the condition, we suspect that this baby is estimated to be around six months old or born premature", he said.

Triesno asked the child's parents to surrender immediately because this act is against the law and is prohibited by religion.

He also asked residents who knew that there were neighbors with suspicious behavior, especially pregnant women who suddenly returned to normal without the delivery process, to immediately report to the officer.
