Riau Police Seize 5,055 Ecstasy Pills From MP Student Friends Who Hit Motorcyclists

The Riau Regional Police's Narcotics Investigation Directorate confiscated 5,055 ecstasy pills and 1,620 pilhappy five items from a student with the initialsMP, the suspect who hit a motorcyclist to death in Pekanbaru.

Riau Police Resnarkoba Director Kombes Manang Soebeti said the two men who were friends of the suspect MP had the initials MA and SM. Both were arrested by the police on Jalan Merak Sakti, Bina Widya District, Pekanbaru City.

"From the suspect's hands, 5,055 ecstasy pills and 1,620 happy five pills were secured," Manang said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 7.

Based on the results of the examination, MA and SM claimed to have received ecstasy pills from international network dealers. The prohibited goods will be circulated in the Pekanbaru City area.

"This must have something to do with MP. Although not directly, this is one of the sources of the circulation of narcotics in Pekanbaru," added Manang.

The perpetrator admitted that he had never met the person who gave the goods. SM circulated the drugs per package according to the control instructions.

"They also communicate with a single-use number. Evidenced with dozens of providers' first cards. After being used to communicate, they are immediately thrown away," he said.

The suspects were charged with Article 114 in conjunction with Article 112 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropics.

Previously, a student with the initialsMP (21) was named a suspect after the car he was driving hit a woman who was a motorcyclist and died on Jalan Beli Tambusai, Pekanbaru City, Saturday (3/8) morning, at around 05.45 WIB.

From the results of the police's investigation, the suspect MP was suspected of being drunk while driving and his urine test was also positive for drugs.
