BALIKPAPAN - Balikpapan Search and Rescue Office (KPP), East Kalimantan, continues to search for company security which was reported to have been attacked by crocodiles. On Tuesday, KPP found pieces of the victim's body. The victim worked at Pertamina Hulu Sanga-Sanga (PHSS). The location of the case is in Handil Canal Village, Anggana District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency (Kukar). "The rescue team has been dispatched to search since the first day of the incident or on Monday, August 5 two days ago. The distance between the Balikpapan KPP to the scene of the incident is about 144 kilometers," said Head of the Balikpapan KPP Operations Section Endrow Sasmita in Anggana, Antara, Wednesday, August 7. The results of yesterday's operation, he continued, at 16.40 WITA the Joint SAR Team found pieces of the victim's body (head) as far as 2.16 km to the upper reaches of the river or southwest from the scene. Then at 17.00 WITA the Joint SAR Team again found pieces of the victim's body (right leg) as far as 2.26 km to the southwest from the scene. Furthermore, at 18.30 WITA the Joint SAR Team temporarily suspended the search for victims because it was dark. As for this Wednesday, he continued, starting at 07.00 WITA, the Joint SAR Team held a small meeting to discuss the technical search and division of the squad, with a decision divided by two teams. The first Joint SAR team conducted a search about 4 km to the downstream using the PHSS speed boat using tracking methods, while the second team conducted a search as far as 4 km to the upstream direction from the scene using a Basarnas rubber boat assisted by drones as a support for visual air search. The elements involved in the search were the Balikpapan KPP Rescue Team, Polairud Polda Kaltim, Polairud Kukar Police, Kukar Firefighters, PHSS Security, victims' families, and residents of Handil Canal.

"The equipment used includes type II rescue cars, rubber boats, speed boats, water equipment, aqua eye, drones, communication equipment, and medical equipment," said Endrow.
