The New Petral Case Is Worked On Again, This Is The KPK's Reason

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that the Pertamina Energy Trading Limited or Petral corruption case, which has been investigated since 2019, was delayed due to several reasons. Among other things, because the information needed is outside Indonesian jurisdiction.

"There is some information and data needed where the information and data are in the jurisdiction of other countries," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, August 6.

As a result, the KPK needs to communicate first with other countries. This process is still ongoing, said a spokesman with the investigator's background.

As for this corruption case, a number of witnesses were summoned by the anti-corruption commission. KPK has scheduled the examination of witnesses for alleged corruption in giving gifts or promises related to crude oil trading activities and refinery products at Pertamina Energy Services Pte. Ltd. as a subsidiary company of PT. Pertamina (Persero)," said Tessa.

Those who were summoned were PTMN Finance PT Pertamina, Ferederick ST Siahaan (FSS); former board of directors of PTMN PT Pertamina, Ginanjar Sofyan (GS); Senior Analyst Downstream PT Pertamina, Imam Mul Akhyar (IMA); and Account Receivables Manager of PT Pertamina, Iswina Dwi Yunanto (IDY). They were asked to attend the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

As for this case, the KPK has actually appointed Director of Petral, Bambang Irianto since 2019. He is suspected of receiving money worth USD 2.9 million from the Kernel Oil company during 2010-2013.

The receipt is said to be related to the trading activities of refinery and crude products at PES in Singapore. Bambang allegedly received money through his company's holding account, SIAM Group Holding Ltd., which is based in British Virgin Island.
