Honorary Teachers Become KKI, DKI Provincial Government Hopes DPRD Immediately Approves Additional Budget

Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Budi Awaluddin, hopes that the DKI DPRD will immediately ratify the amendment to the 2024 budget year APBD.

This is because, in the draft amendment to the APBD, the DKI Provincial Government has proposed additional budget allocations to pay Individual Work Contract (KKI) workers from honorary teachers.

Meanwhile, in the determination of the pure APBD in 2024, the DKI Provincial Government can only open the formation of 1,700 KKI personnel if they calculate the composition of their salary distribution budget.

In fact, 2,650 honorary teachers are threatened with no longer being able to teach because of their unclear status.

"This is what we will discuss later. Can we immediately do 2,650 (an honorary teacher recruited by the KKI) which we will do. It depends on when the APBDP will be knocked out," Budi told reporters, Tuesday, August 6.

The DKI Provincial Government will open the KKI formation in August. Meanwhile, if the APBD changes are not ratified immediately, the addition of quotas to recruit all honorary teachers to become KKI personnel this year cannot be realized.

"If possible (the change in the APBD) was knocked out in September, it might be possible to go ahead (recruitment) of all. But if November sees 1,700 first or what," he said.

For information, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will open formations of Individual Work Contract (KKI) for thousands of honorary teachers as a solution to clarify their status.

So far, the appointment of honorary teachers has not gone through recommendations from the Education Office. So, they do not have Basic Education Data (Dapodik), have a Unique Number of Educators and Education Personnel (NUPTK).

As a result, hundreds of honorary teachers in Jakarta were dismissed unilaterally by their respective principals after the cleansing policy.

This has drawn protests from various parties. Finally, the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono decided to open space for honorary teachers to participate in the selection of individual work contracts (KKI) for non-ASN public school teachers at the DKI Jakarta Education Office so that they can still teach with clear status.
