Jokowi Doesn't Know About The Figure Of T, Benny Rhamdani Refuses To Comment

JAKARTA - Head of the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI) Benny Rhamdani did not want to respond to President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) statement that he did not know the figure with the initials T.

Benny argued that his capacity was not to respond or comment on statements from the president.

"I am not in a position to comment on Pak Jokowi's comments," Benny told reporters, Monday, August 5.

Referring to his statement in his speech, Benny said that Jokowi was shocked when he heard the figure of T in a limited meeting (ratas).

In addition, Benny also mentioned that this figure is an Indonesian citizen who controls the online gambling business and scamming or online fraud in Indonesia from Cambodia.

However, when confirmed about the figure of T being an Indonesian citizen or a foreigner (WNA), Benny seemed reluctant to open it. He asked the police for questioning.

"Regarding the material, it was submitted to investigators," said Benny.

Jokowi previously admitted that he did not know about the figure with the initials T, who Benny Rhamdani called controlling the online gambling business in Indonesia.

According to Jokowi, this matter should have been immediately asked by Benny who revealed about the information for the first time.

"I don't know," said Jokowi in Batang Regency, Central Java, Friday, July 26.

"Just ask Pak Benny, yes," he added.
