Surabaya Mayor, East Java, Eri Cahyadi, mediated a polemic that occurred between Petra's school and residents at Tom Pharmacy Housing, Manyar Surabaya after previously going viral on social media.

He took a comprehensive approach regarding the polemic between the Petra Christian Education Teaching Association Foundation (PPPK) with residents of RW IV, RW V, and RW VII Manyar, Surabaya which went viral on social media some time ago.

"God willing, it has been resolved and resolved properly. Surabaya residents always solve problems with togetherness. There are no problems that cannot be discussed. This is the character of Arek Suroboyo," he said in Surabaya as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 5.

Eri Cahyadi met all parties to clarify and the result was not true that Petra paid hundreds of millions per month to RW.

"What has happened over the years is that four parties (Petra, residents of RW IV, residents of RW V, and residents of RW VII) pay the same amount of money to pay the honorarium of all security personnel or security guards and their operations, ranging from HT maintenance to CCTV," he said.

He said the money was used to pay security guards in housing, which amounted to 40 people with a salary of Rp. 2.7 million each.

The security guard's salary is about to be increased to Rp. 3 million. Therefore, the contribution for each party is planned to be increased from Rp. 32 million to Rp. 35 million.

"Here there is a misunderstanding when there will be an increase in contributions from Rp. 32 million to Rp. 35 million because the security guard's salary will be raised. Residents of each RW also paid a total of Rp. 35 million. But Petra objected until finally the misunderstanding went viral," he said.

The parties, said Eri, had agreed that Petra would no longer need to pay security fees after the mediation was carried out.

"Now it is not entrusted to the RW, immediately managed by Petra himself. Petra immediately repaired public facilities. For example, such as the hyacinth of the river near the housing that has been carried out by the RW, is now being carried out by Petra," said Eri Cahyadi.

Petra, he continued, will also help regulate local traffic and security, including helping clean the hyacinth of the pond in the local river.

"Later on, Petra's security will also guard at the eight housing doors to regulate the congestion, we will move together. Because this resident actually asked not to get stuck, the air was clean, and the hyacinth was cleaned, because this housing was Petra's neighborhood too," he said.

He said the Surabaya City Transportation Service (Dishub) also carried out traffic engineering, including regulating the difference in the hours of passing between SMP and Petra High School so that traffic was smooth.

Head of RW IV Menur Pumpungan Village, Lili Aldjufri Hasan, admitted that she wanted the polemic to be resolved with a solution. "We want the best, want it as a family. We have never received one month's money of Rp140 million," he said.

Deputy Director of Facilities and Infrastructure (Sarpras) of the Petra PPPK Foundation, Robertus Prananta, added that the Petra PPPK Foundation will cooperate in terms of traffic security, and repair of public facilities.

"So there is no contribution, so we will hold a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Tom Pharmacy Housing. Because later we will also be with the city government through the Surabaya Transportation Agency and the Surabaya Environment Agency (DLH) to regulate traffic and bozem at Tom Pharma," he said.
