Kaesang Dare To Be Competed With Ridwan Kamil In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election

PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep admitted that he was brave if he was pitted against Ridwan Kamil in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub).

This was said by Kaesang in response to the latest political map regarding Ridwan Kamil which will be carried by the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) in the upcoming Jakarta Pilkada.

Kaesang initially said that PSI did not have a problem if RK fought in the Jakarta Pilkada.

According to him, the former governor of West Java has the capacity to lead the Special Region of Jakarta or DKJ.

"Yes, it doesn't matter, I think Mr. Ridwan Kamil will have enough capacity to become the next governor of Jakarta," said Kaesang at Senayan Park, Jakarta, Monday, August 5.

However, Kaesang emphasized that PSI had not yet made a decision regarding the Jakarta Pilkada. Currently, he said, the name of the Central Java Police Chief Ahmad Lutfi has just been decided to run in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

"Yes, what is certain is that for Central Java, we from PSI will provide our recommendations to Mr. Ahmad Luthfi," he said.

The youngest son of President Joko Widodo also asked all parties to wait for PSI's decision for a candidate for governor of Jakarta. But if DKJ residents want him to come forward, Kaesang said he was ready to fight Anies Baswedan and Ridwan Kamil.

"Yes, we are waiting for Jakarta. So far, Mr. Anies, there is also the latest, Mr. RK. If I personally, I was asked to be able to later by the community to advance to the regional election against Mr. Anies, I dared, against Mr. Ridwan Kamil, I also dared," he concluded.
