PBNU Reveals Palestinian Presidential Adviser Comes To Indonesia 7 August, Hopes To Meet Jokowi

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board will invite the Minister of Justice and Advisor to the President of Palestine, Mahmoud Al Habbash, to come to Indonesia.

PBNU General Chair Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya said Mahmoud Al Habbash would arrive in Jakarta on Wednesday, August 7.

"We have scheduled a visit for three days from the 8th to the 10th. He will return home on Monday 11 August," said Gus Yahya at the PBNU Office, Central Jakarta, Monday, August 5.

Yahya revealed that this activity was carried out to initiate Indonesia's contribution to help the Palestinian government and its citizens in the face of Israeli military aggression.

"Hopefully with this program there will be more intensive, more decisive steps that will be taken in order to fight for the fate and future of the Palestinian people," said Yahya.

Yahya admitted that PBNU had communicated with the Palace so that it could schedule a Mahmoud Al Habbash meeting with President Joko Widodo. However, there is no definite answer regarding the availability of Jokowi's time to meet Mahmoud Al Habbash.

"As you have a year the presidential schedule is very, very busy. We have also communicated with the elected president Prabowo Subianto, but he is currently on a trip abroad and is likely not to return here before August 10", he explained.
