Entering The Mining Location In Konawe, Southeast Sulawesi, A 47-year-old Man Was Dragged By The River Current

The joint SAR team conducted a search for a missing man dragged by the Alenggo River, Langgikima District, North Konawe Regency (Konut), Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra).

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aminuddin PS said the victim, Ahmadia Ahmad (47), was reported missing at 11.35 WITA, Monday, August 5.

"It is reported that there has been a dangerous condition for one person who drowned due to being swept away by the current of the river in Alenggo, Langgikima District, North Konut," Aminuddin said when contacted, Monday, August 5, was confiscated by Antara.

Based on the report, his party dispatched the Konut SAR Post Rescue Team to the reported location to provide SAR assistance at 11.50 WITA.

"The location of the incident with the North Konawe SAR Post is about 71.53 kilometers," he said.

Aminuddin revealed that when he arrived at the team's location, he immediately searched with cloudy weather conditions and had the potential for light rain in several areas.

"As well as wind speeds of 4 kilometers per hour from the northwest," he said.

In the operation to search for victims, he continued, several tools were used, including personnel trucks, rubber boats, evacuation SAR equipment, medical SAR equipment, communication equipment, and other safety support equipment.

Aminuddin also explained that the victim's disappearance began at 08.00 WTA, the victim and his partner headed to the mine site on foot.

On the way to the mine site, the victim then crossed the river at 08.36 WITA.

"When crossing the river, the victim was swept away by the current causing the victim to be carried away and drowned. The victim's colleague at that time immediately tried to ask for help from local residents," he said.

However, until this information was received, the search for victims had not yielded any results.
