Entering Prabowo's Cabinet? Sandiaga Uno: Don't Make It Up

BATAM - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno does not want to assume that he is trusted to re-enter the next government cabinet, because the position of minister is the prerogative of the president.

"We leave it (to the president), don't say that we are ready, we give all this authority and prerogative to the elected president," Sandi said, quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, August 5, when asked about his readiness to serve in the latest cabinet.

Sandi revealed that there had been no talk of him regarding the cabinet in the era of the elected president. However, he believes that whoever occupies the position of Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy is the president's choice.

"I believe that the cabinet in the future, however, is the prerogative of the president, and we leave 100 percent to the president," said Sandi.

According to Sandi, he has even prepared documents to be handed over to his replacement at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

"So hopefully, whoever will continue the parekraf policy which has increasingly shown significant progress, this can be an aspect of sustainability, he will ensure," said Sandi.

During his visit to Batam City, Sandi said goodbye to the business actors and the people present. That this is his last working visit in Riau Islands.

On the same day, the Minister of Defense who is also the Elected President Prabowo Subianto made a working visit in Batam City, in addition to inaugurating the warehouse of one of the companies, as well as submitting a letter of recommendation to the Asakar-Li Claudia pair who competed in the 2024 Riau Islands Pilkada.

Sandi admitted that he did not have time to meet Prabowo in Batam.

"Today he said Pak Prabowo went to Batam, but today my schedule is tight (Batam) to Tanjung Pinang, usually meet every week during the cabinet," said Sandi.

Meanwhile, Elected President Prabowo Subianto is still in the stage of designing the cabinet structure in his government, which will be officially sworn in in October 2024.
