Herbal Medicine Shop In Garut Has A Liquor Burden, Satpol PP Drains Its Contents In Confiscation

The Garut Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) confiscated hundreds of bottles of various brands of liquor in an underground bunker to trick officers during community disease operations.

"Yes, at one of the places selling herbal medicine on Jalan Pembangunan, a bunker was found under the bed," said Head of the Garut Regency Satpol PP Usep Basuki Eko in Garut, Sunday, August 4, quoted by Antara.

He said that the officers had succeeded in dismantling the liquor storage area, which was not usually successfully dismantled when carrying out community disease operations from August 3-4 in the morning.

In the operation, he said, one of them raided herbal medicine stalls on Jalan Pembangunan which was known when intensive inspections were carried out, there was a basement that was used as a place to store liquor.

He conveyed that the officers then transported all the liquor to be confiscated along with the results of liquor raids in other areas of Garut urban area with 218 bottles of alcohol seized.

"From the three locations we obtained evidence of 218 bottles of various brands of alcohol, as well as three jerry cans of palm wine from the Guntur Terminal area," he said.

He conveyed that routine operations targeting liquor became a routine agenda, especially Saturday night until early Sunday to ensure there was no circulation of liquor in Garut.

Satpol PP juga, kata dia, tidak hanya sekadar menyitakan barang bukti, tapi pemilik atau penjualnya juga diproses secara aturan hukum yang berlaku sebagai efek jera terhadap mereka yang melanggar peraturan daerah tentang larangan minuman keras.

"We have secured evidence and suspects at Mako for further processing by Pol PP investigators," he said.

In addition to the Garut Satpol PP ranks, the police also held an operation to eradicate liquor and also took action against perpetrators of traffic violations such as motorbikes using noisy exhausts, and were not equipped with documents.

Deputy Chief of Garut Resort Police, Kompol Dhoni Erwanto, stated that the operation was in order to maintain a security and public order situation in Garut Regency.

"We will continue to make various efforts to keep the security and social security situation in Garut Regency safe and conducive," said Dhoni.
