PAN Concerning KIM Plus In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election: It Depends On Who The Cagub-cawagub Is Promoted

Deputy Chairperson of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Yandri Susanto said the potential formation of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) plus in the 2024 Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Election (Pilgub) was very open.

It's just that, said Yandri, it really depends on the candidate for governor and deputy governor candidate (readgub-readwagub) who is promoted.

"The agreement between the candidate pairs will determine the plus. If we carry A, it means that we are squeezing or what we confirm is this plus. If B is the candidate, it means we will stick together and we will make sure KIM plus this," he told reporters, Friday 2 August.

Yandri said that until now, communication and coordination between KIM's chairmanes has been carried out. However, he ensured that no priority names had been brought up by KIM in the Jakarta gubernatorial election and the name of the gubernatorial and vice governor's name would be discussed together in the KIM Plus forum.

"It depends on the plus coalition talks. Who is the most worthy to be promoted and can certainly win the Jakarta gubernatorial election. So, we haven't mentioned one name at a time, but everything is in the inventory," he explained.

Yandri said PAN hopes that KIM and KIM plus will immediately decide on the cagub-cacaugub pair who will be promoted in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. This is important in order to accelerate consolidation at the grassroots. Moreover, the registration schedule for the cagub-cawagub pair to the General Election Commission (KPU) is getting closer, namely 27-29 August 2024.

"We really hope that this first week there will be a common ground or it is clear who we are carrying because in Jakarta several regional elections are always in the last minute of the decision," concluded Yandri.

Previously, Gerindra Party DPP Daily Chair Sufmi Ahmad Dasco said there was an open possibility of KIM plus for the Jakarta, Central Java and West Java gubernatorial elections. According to him, with KIM plus, other parties have the potential to enter KIM.

"There will be a meeting from coalition parties. The coalition plus, the Indonesian Coalition is advanced plus. Plus there are other parties that will join," said Dasco after attending the Perindo Mukernas at iNews Tower, Jakarta, at the end of July.
