Strategic Visit, TNI Commander General Agus Strengthens Military Alliance With United Arab Emirates

JAKARTA In order to strengthen military diplomacy and the interests of the nation, the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto started his working visit to the Middle East by meeting the Commander of the Armed Forces of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Lieutenant General Eisa Saif Bin Ablan Almazrouei. The meeting took place at the UAE Ministry of Defense Office, Abu Dhabi, on Friday, August 2, 2024.

At the meeting, General Agus Subiyanto expressed his pride in the increasingly rapid progress of bilateral cooperation between the TNI and the UAE Armed Forces.

Lt. Gen. Eisa Saif Bin Ablan Almazrouei also expressed his gratitude for the visit of the TNI Commander and hoped that the cooperation between the two countries could continue to be improved.

"We really hope that cooperation with the TNI can continue to be expanded. Our focus is on two things, namely joint training with the Navy and the readiness of health workers who will help in the UAE, especially for war victims in Gaza," said Lt. Gen. Eisa in a written statement received Friday, August 2.

Agus added that the joint exercise between the TNI and the UAE military is very important. Delegation of UAE officers has visited military training areas in Indonesia, and the TNI Commander hopes that the UAE can also give permission for the TNI to conduct location surveys in UAE military training areas.

"This visit and cooperation is an effort to maintain a strategic partnership that has been well established with the UAE and will also have a positive impact on the interests of the national economy," concluded the TNI Commander.
