JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo received an award as the Father of Construction of Indonesia from the Association of Indonesian National Construction Implementers (Gappensi) in the 10th Anniversary of Jokowi's Government in the Field of Construction, Infrastructure, and Investment in Jakarta, today. "Gapensi gave an award to the President as the Father of Indonesian Construction," said General Chairperson of Gapensi Andi Rukman Nurdin in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, July 31. Andi Rukman directly handed over a steel helmet to President Joko Widodo at the event as a symbol of Mr. Konstruksi Indonesia. The General Chairperson of Gapensi expressed his appreciation because President Joko Widodo had consistently carried out development promises in his previous campaign. According to him, infrastructure development has been carried out well during the administration of President Widodo. "Thank you Mr. President for constantly building Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke," said Andi. He hopes that the Government can make January 8, which coincides with the date of the founding of Gapensi, as Indonesian Construction Day. In his remarks, President Joko Widodo said that since the beginning of his administration 10 years ago he had focused on infrastructure development, both for connectivity, basic, dreamy, and industrial services. "Earlier, the figures, how many kilometers of toll roads, national roads, have been all conveyed on the screen. How many large, medium and small ports, new airports have been submitted. I am sure this is also a big contribution from Gapensi, both centrally and in the regions," explained the President.

Jokowi advised Gapensi to contribute to development not only building concrete buildings, which have no benefits, but also thinking about aesthetics, beauty, landscapes, and environmental aspects.
