Ahead Of RI's 79th Anniversary At IKN, Jokowi Calls Garuda Palace Still Finishing

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that ahead of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day Commemoration Ceremony in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) there is still a final stage of work or finishing to cleaning in a number of areas, especially at the Presidential Office aka the Garuda Palace.

"If there is no problem on August 17th, this is already cleaning up. But it really needs a big job even though cleaning, finishing the end but still big work," said President Jokowi when giving a press statement at the IKN Presidential Office, East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Monday, July 29, was confiscated by Antara.

The President explained that the progress of the construction of the Presidential Office is currently still ongoing because thousands of workers are still completing their work.

The Head of State said he was satisfied with the current progress of the Presidential Office. However, he admitted that he did not want to review too often so as not to hinder the ongoing work.

"Many just have to clean up the final finishing. There are still a lot of workers, so I can't take people to work places so they don't get disturbed," said the President.

Although there are still many workers who pass by around the Presidential Office, a number of supporting infrastructures such as electricity, water supplies and internet networks can be accessed.

On his first day based in IKN, President Jokowi held his inaugural meeting with the IKN Authority and the ranks of the East Kalimantan Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
