Banten DPUPR Finds Unlicensed Utilization Of Underground Water In South Tangerang

JAKARTA - The Regional Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of Cidurian-Cisadane Watersheds at the Banten Province Public Works and Spatial Planning (DPUPR) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) to ensure that surface water management is in accordance with government permits.

During the inspection, the DPUPR found the use of underground water without a permit used by the developer of Serpong Lagoon Housing in Setu District, South Tangerang City (Tangsel).

"We found that there was water extraction for housing, but after we searched for the permit, until now we have not received information that the developer has a SIPPA permit," said Head of Water Utilization at the Ciduren-Cisadanese watershed Management UPTD, Banten Province DPUPR Mohamad Tasdik in Tangerang, Saturday, July 27.

He explained, based on the results of the search carried out, PT Arfa Putra Soegama as the manager of surface water in Serpong Lagoon has not been able to show SIPPA (Air Collection and Utilization Permit).

"Earlier, what was shown was only a ground water tax, while we have not received a surface water tax regarding tax evidence. Later we will make a summons for clarification at the office," he explained.

In addition, from the search results, his party also found that there were no meters in the raw water channel. Where, officers only found meters in the water supply pipe.

"If we look at the water meter distribution, it's more than 300 thousand, it's not from raw water, just for supply water. But for raw water, it might be even bigger," he explained.

However, with these findings, the Banten DPUPR team will immediately summon the management as a follow-up.

"It's not appropriate. There should be a raw water meter first, usually what we record for taxes from raw water first, not clean water. But we haven't found it before, what we just found is clean water," he said.
