JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian stated that so far there are 30 state civil servants (ASN) who have submitted their resignations because they will run for the list to participate in the 2024 simultaneous regional head elections (pilkada).
"We have submitted 30 resignations, and we are in the process, we have changed some, such as South Papua," said Tito Karnavian as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, July 26.
He said that ASN and those who currently serve as regional heads according to the rules must notify them to submit their resignations, if they are to run in the regional elections.
ASN who will advance in the regional election, he said, a decree will be issued to terminate their positions, and for now the Ministry of Home Affairs is in the process of dismissing him, as well as looking for a replacement as soon as possible.
"The others are being processed for dismissal, and at the same time looking for a replacement as soon as possible," he said.
Tito appealed to other regional heads who have the desire to advance in the regional elections to immediately notify the Ministry of Home Affairs so that their successors could be sought as soon as possible.
If ASN does not submit its resignation, he said, then the Ministry of Home Affairs finds out about it first, then according to the rules it will immediately terminate its position.
