Local Residents With Foreign Investors In Gili Trawangan, NTB Police Ask Provincial Governments To Go Down The Mountain

West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Police suspect that the land dispute in Gili Trawangan, North Lombok triggered the anarchic action of residents.

Head of Public Relations of the NTB Daeah Police, Police Commissioner Rio Indra Lesmana, said that his party asked the NTB Provincial Government to be more concerned about social issues that occurred in the asset area belonging to the 65 hectare NTB Provincial Government.

"So, it should be supported by the provincial government because this is related to the assets of the provincial government. All parties must care about this issue," said Rio in Mataram, NTB, Friday, July 26, quoted by Antara.

As an institution, Rio continued, the NTB Police will officially write to the NTB Provincial Government to resolve the problem at Gili Trawangan.

"Surely later we will convey it to the provincial government, I will create a narrative first for delivery materials," he said.

In addition to coordinating with the NTB Provincial Government, Rio ensured internally that his party would gather all Polri officials on duty in North Lombok Regency.

"As stated by the NTB Police Chief, Gili trawangan is a priority for the security area. So, that's my task later, I will convey it to the police chief, Kasat, the police chief, to the sub-sector police in Gili to improve the security pattern, I will definitely follow up," he said.

Last week, anarchist action took place by a group of residents in Gili Trawangan. The action was triggered by a land dispute between local residents and foreign investors in managing a place of business on land owned by the NTB Provincial Government.

However, the action was successfully suppressed by the Gili Indah sub-sector police who were in charge of security in Gili Trawangan, Meno, and Air.
