JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin performed the occult prayer for the late 9th Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Hamzah Haz, together with Setwapres officials and employees. The occult prayer was performed after performing Friday prayers, at the Baiturrahman Mosque, the Vice Presidential Secretariat Office Complex (Setwapres), Jakarta, today. Based on the information received, in Jakarta, he acted as the Imam of the occult prayer, namely Ust. H. Ahmad Muzakkir Abdurrahman, Imam Rawatib of the Istiqlal Mosque. In addition to officials and employees of the Setwapres, they also performed occult prayers on this occasion, the participants of the Dai ASEAN Conference who previously had an audience with Vice President Ma'ruf. Hamzah Haz is said to have died while he was about to perform the D bettera prayer. After being prayed at the mosque near his residence, the late Hamzah Haz was then buried in a family grave in the Cisarua area, Bogor Regency, West Java. For information, Hamzah Haz was born in Ketapang, February 15, 1940. He is an alumni of the State Cooperative Academy, Yogyakarta (1962) and the Faculty of Economics at Tanjungpura University, Pontianak (1970). Hamzah Haz started his career as a teacher in 1960. He later became a journalist for the Free newspaper in Pontianak until he became the General Chair of the Pawu News Daily in West Kalimantan. In the world of politics, Hamzah Haz is a senior figure who served as Vice President accompanying the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia Megawati Soekarnoputri during the 2001-2004 government period. Previously, Hamzah Haz had also served as Minister of State Investment/Head of BKPM in the era of President BJ Habibie.

Hamzah Haz also briefly became Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives and Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare and Poverty Reduction in the era of President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur).
