The Attorney General's Office Asks The Police To Open Up About The Panji Gumilang TPPU Case Files

The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has asked Bareskrim Polri investigators to attach the results of an audit of the foundation's wealth report to complete the case file for alleged money laundering (TPPU) led by Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Panji Gumilang.

The case file for the Panji Gumilang TPPU is known to have been transferred by investigators. However, it has not been declared complete.

The Head of the Attorney General's Office, Harli Siregar, said that the results of the audit of wealth reports needed to be attached because to ensure that the alleged criminal acts committed met the elements of the TPPU.

"That the public prosecutor stated that he should be audited for foundation finances. Why? Because it is important to see what? To look at the tempus, is it categorized as a crime of origin or a crime of money laundering," Harli told reporters, Friday, July 26.

Not only that, but audit results are also needed to trace the flow of suspect funds and sort out the ML categories and so on.

Therefore, in an effort to complete the case file, the research prosecutor continues to coordinate with investigators from the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes.

The research prosecutor has submitted instructions to investigators so that the file can be completed formally and materially.

"To see whether this is an indication of money laundering offenses or not, this is very important because the articles suspected are articles related to money laundering offenses, so it needs certainty," said Harli.

Panji Gumilang is suspected of committing money laundering offenses using the mode of borrowing money from Bank J-trust on behalf of the Indonesian Islamic Boarding School Foundation (YPI). Then, the money was actually used for personal gain worth IDR 73 billion.

In the mode used, the foundation's money borrowed by Panji Gumilang was transferred from the foundation's account to a personal account. Then, it was used for his benefit.
