Bandung Unikom Students Visit VOI Media

JAKARTA - Sekitar 120 mahasiswa dari Universitas Komputer Indonesia (Unikom) Bandung jurusan Komunikasi berkunjung ke kantor VOI Media pada Kamis, 25 Juli 2024 pagi. Dalam kunjungan ini, mahasiswa Unikom antusias bertanya tentang produksi dan mekanisme kerja yang dilakukan di VOI (www.voi.id), Era (www.era.id), Paragram (https://paragram.id), serta Ai-Care (https://ai-care.id) yang bergerak dalam layanan konsultasi dokter secara daring.

The Unikom student group was received by VOI Media CEO Satrya Pinandita, VOI Editor-in-Chief Iqbal Irsyad and his staff from the editors of three media brothers: VOI, Era, and Paragram, as well as the doctor's consulting service application, Ai-Care.

In his remarks, Satrya Pinandita conveyed to students to continue to study the technological developments implemented in media companies. "Mass media is currently developing and using technology. In the past, print media spread through hawkers and newspaper stalls. Now, online media has already used social media; Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X, Facebook, etc.," he said.

According to Pinandita, VOI as a medium has also used AI (Artificial Intelligence) to translate news from Indonesian to English and other foreign languages. "Until now, apart from English, VOI has also been translated into Japanese, Chinese, Arabic and French. In the future, in the near future, we will develop it again by translating news in VOI into Korean and German. So as the name suggests, VOI will become an Indonesian funnel for citizens of the world wherever it is," he explained.

Meanwhile, Iqbal Irsyad said that currently more and more media were growing and present after the glory of print media dimmed. "Now online media is an alternative, the media that used to be victorious as print media has transformed into online media. There is also a media that actually appears without starting as print media. Thank you for choosing and making VOI a place of visit and learning," he said.

While doing a room tour at the VOI Media office and having a dialogue with the editors VOI, Era, Paragram, and AI-Care, students and students from Unikom looked excited. They asked questions about the media, the spread of media through social media which is now common, and also about online health consultations conducted by teams from AI-Care. Currently, Ai-Care is utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) technology in the practice of analyzing and diagnosing patient disease.

Noviana, a student who took part in the visit, admitted that she was happy and got new insight after visiting and saw the VOI Media kitchen firsthand. "It's really fun to be able to visit VOI Media's office, before I didn't know about this VOI media. But when I saw the media and social media, it turned out that VOI had a lot of interesting news with a good design, and reliable sources," he said.

Monaf Solihat, as a student supervisor, expressed his gratitude for the willingness of VOI Media to receive a visit from Unikom Bandung students. "Thank you VOI Media for accepting our students. VOI can be a role model for our students when they want to work in the media world after graduation. We get a lot of input in the current new media era. We can also learn about media transformation even in a short time," he said.

After completing a visit to VOI, the Bandung Unikom student group continued to visit COMPASS.tv. After that, he visited one of the tourist sites in the Puncak Bogor area before returning to Bandung.
