Steal Gold Worth IDR 1 Billion, Young Woman Arrested By Pangkalpinang Police

PANGKALPINANG - A young woman was arrested by the police for being involved in the theft of IDR 1 billion worth of gold in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung. The woman played a role in selling various forms of gold stolen by her sister-in-law and other colleagues.

"For Tari, the relationship is as a seller of crimes in the form of gold. This dance has a relative relationship with other perpetrators as brother-in-law," said Head of Pidum Polresta Pangkalpinang Ipda Fajar, Wednesday, July 24.

The young woman who was suspected of being involved in the theft of gold, was caught by residents with evidence of gold wrapped in plastic in her hand. Unable to contain emotions, the victim, who knew the perpetrator, tried to attack the perpetrator but was dispersed by residents.

The hysterical victim fainted and was assisted by local residents to take him into the house.

As a result of this incident, the victim lost 20 grams of Antam gold, 1,000 grams of 24-carat gold, and Rp 40 million in cash, with an estimated loss of Rp 1 billion.

The police who arrived at the location immediately secured the perpetrator and were taken to the Pangkalpinang Police Headquarters. The woman is known not to be alone, she only plays a role in selling various forms of gold, which was stolen by her sister-in-law and other colleagues.

"They gathered at Tari's brother's house to place the evidence. After that, Tari acted as a seller and looked for people who wanted to buy the gold," he explained.

In addition to securing young women, the police also managed to secure two other perpetrators and one person is still at large.

"Currently, the perpetrators have been detained at the Pangkalpinang Police Headquarters for further investigation," he concluded.
