Shipwreck In The Waters Of Pisang Island, Fisherman Found Selamat

The joint SAR team evacuated a fisherman who had a boat accident in the waters south of Pisang Island, Wolo District, Kolaka Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province (Sultra). Head of Basarnas Kendari Aminuddin PS, said the fisherman named Harianto (37) was reported to have had a ship accident, by his wife named Dahlia on Tuesday (23/7), at around 23.14 WITA. "We received information that a ship accident had occurred, namely a boat that had an engine dead in the south of Pisang Island, Kolaka Regency," Aminuddin said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 24. Based on the report, his party then dispatched a Rescue Team of the Kolaka SAR Post to an informed location, to provide SAR assistance at 23.30 WITA. "The location was moved by the Kolaka SAR Post about 31 nautical miles," he said. The rescue team then conducted a search with cloudy weather conditions, wind speed of about 6-10 knots from the east, and wave height of 0.5-1.5 meters. At 00.58 WITa, the Rescue Team of the Kolaka SAR Post visited the victim's house and received information from the public that the victim had been together with a joint SAR team on Babarina Beach, Donggala Village. "The victim was found safe eight nautical miles from the crash site," he said.

He conveyed that with the victim being found safe, the SAR operation for the ship's accident against a boat with one fisherman was declared complete and closed. "All elements involved in the search were returned to their respective units," said Aminuddin.
