Aiming For A Ministerial Seat In The Prabowo Government? Cak Imin: No Thought At All

JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) claims it has not been thought of targeting a ministerial seat in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

Although, in the 26th Harlah of PKB, Gerindra openly invited PKB to join the government in the future.

"There is no thinking at all. We just heard about Mr. Dasco earlier," said Cak Imin after the PKB 26th Harlah event at the Jakarta Convention Center, Tuesday, July 23.

Cak Imin previously joked that if PKB Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) Jazilul Fawaid was appointed Minister of Religion, then the issue of organizing Hajj in Indonesia can be resolved every year.

However, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR asked all parties to wait for the PKB decision whether to join or instead become the government's opposition. The PKB decision will appear when Prabowo is sworn in later.

"Yes, join or not, right (the decision) will be 20 October. We'll just have to wait. But of course PKB welcomes Pak Dasco's invitation (Daily Chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP)," said Cak Imin.

The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, previously openly invited PKB to join the Prabowo government for the 2024-2029 period.

According to Dasco, Gerindra should invite PKB to join the government camp because the two parties had "integrated" to form a temporary coalition in the 2024 presidential election, before finally PKB and Gerindra were in different coalitions.

This was revealed by Dasco when giving a speech at the PKB 26th Harlah event which was also attended by all leaders of political parties.

"In the future, PKB, Gerindra, all parties must be together. Because we have already been said that we are an old love, we are waiting for PKB to join the government together," said Dasco.
