After The Constitutional Court's Decision, The KPU For The National Recapitulation Plenary Meeting On July 25

The General Election Commission (KPU) has scheduled a plenary meeting for the national recapitulation after the Constitutional Court (MK) decision was followed up on July 25, 2024.

"We will carry out a national recapitulation process between (days) 22 to 28 (July). We will probably do it on the 25th (July), maybe if there is no change in schedule," said KPU Chair Mochammad Afifuddin at the KPU Office, Jakarta, Friday, July 19, quoted by Antara.

"What does that mean? After the PSU process (re-voting), whether there is a change or not, we must recapitulate it at the national level," he continued.

The KPU has held re-voting (PSU) in a number of regions as a follow-up to the Constitutional Court's decision. Currently, the regions that hold the PSU are still in the recapitulation stage of vote counting at the provincial level.

"Some areas still leave PSU and recapitulation is still ongoing today. So, for example in West Sumatra, hopefully all DPD PSUs will be completed, then in North Kalimantan there will be Jayawijaya, then Gorontalo and also in Riau," said Afif.

The Constitutional Court has finished deciding 106 cases of Dispute over the 2024 General Election Results (PHPU). The trial for reading the verdict was held on June 6, 7, and 10, 2024.

The Constitutional Court granted 44 cases and rejected 58 PHPU cases for the 2024 Legislative Election. The total number of cases registered by the Constitutional Court was 297 cases.

Of the 44 cases, the Constitutional Court granted them with various decisions, such as re-voting (PSU), re-voting, re-voting recapitulation, or determination of the legislative results based on the findings of the Constitutional Court. Then there were three cases that were granted the withdrawal and one case was unacceptable.

The number of 44 cases granted has tripled or around 14.81 percent compared to the 2019 General Election. During the 2019 PHPU Pileg, the Constitutional Court only granted 12 of the 261 cases registered or 4.59 percent.
