Regarding Jusuf Hamka Forward In The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, Golkar: Depending On The Survey Results For The Next 10 Days

JAKARTA - Secretary-General of the Golkar Party Lodewijk F Paulus said the party had assigned Jusuf Hamka or Babah Alun to run in the Jakarta gubernatorial election on November 27, 2204.

According to Lodewijk, the final decision of the Golkar Party to carry Jusuf Hamka depends on the results of his survey within the next 10 days.

"We will see what the progress of the survey will be. There is still 1 month left, 10 days ahead, we will see what the Babah Alun survey looks like. Hopefully we have a good choice variable, either for the governor or deputy governor of the Special Region of Jakarta," said Lodewijk at the Golkar DPP office, Jalan Anggrek Nelly Murni, West Jakarta, Thursday 18 July.

Lodewijk said the Golkar Party gave Jusuf Hamka the task of running as both a candidate for governor and a candidate for deputy governor.

According to him, the survey results will determine Jusuf Hamka's position in the Jakarta gubernatorial election. If the survey results show high electability, it can be pushed forward as a cagub and if it is not too high, then it is pushed as a cawagub.

"We have given an instruction letter to Babah Alun or Mr. Jusuf Hamka. People say, Mr. Toll Road. Well, the task given to him is as a candidate for governor and future deputy governor candidate," said Lodewijk.

Lodewijk also shared the beginning of the Golkar Party encouraging Jusuf Hamka to run for the Jakarta gubernatorial election. According to him, Jusuf Hamka's name appeared when Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto received a visit from PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep some time ago.

"So during the meeting here with Kaesang, the chairman of PSI was conveyed by Mr. Airlangga, if Kaesang wants to run in Jakarta, we have cawagub, Babah Alun," he said.

It's just that, said Lodewijk, the name Jusuf Hamka continues to experience dynamics so that the Golkar Party not only encourages him to become a cawagub of Jakarta, but also a cagub of Jakarta. The final decision, he said, would wait for the survey results in the next 10 days.

"So we are waiting, for the past 10 days we will see what the results of the survey are like, just jumping one level up and remove the decree," concluded Lodewijk.
