Golkar Waits For Police Chief Ahmad Luthfi To Retire Before Being Nominated In The Central Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA - Secretary General (Secretary General) of the Golkar Party DPP Lodewijk F. Paulus said his party was in a position waiting for the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi's steps to retire from the National Police before seriously carrying him in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

"So we are waiting for him to retire. There is time to say that 7-10 days the survey will also run," said Lodewijk at the Golkar DPP office in the Slipi area, West Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, July 18.

According to Lodewijk, Golkar really respects Ahmad Luthfi's professionalism in carrying out his duties as Kapolda. Therefore, his party did not want to give a political instruction to Ahmad Luthfi.

While waiting for Ahmad Luthfi's decision to retire, Golkar also opened up opportunities to find other candidates who were deemed worthy of being promoted in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

The process of searching for candidates promoted by Golkar will be more dynamic after the resignation of the Chairman of the Gerindra DPP Sudaryono from the Central Java gubernatorial election battle.

"Pak Sudaryono resigned from his candidacy as a candidate for governor, making his political map will change," he said.

Therefore, he hopes that in the near future the Golkar DPP will find the two exact figures to be carried in the Central Java gubernatorial election.

Previously, the Golkar Party unanimously supported the Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi to run in the 2024 Central Java Pilkada.

For information, in a number of surveys, the names of Ahmad Luthfi and the Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep are at the top of the 2024 Central Java Pilkada exchange.

The chairman of the Central Java Golkar Election Winning Body (Bapilu), M Iqbal, assessed that Kaesang's name did not affect him.

However, his party did not rule out the possibility of taking into consideration the name Kaesang to enter the 2024 Central Java Pilkada exchange.

Moreover, currently there is still one month to see the political situation in Central Java in preparation for the 2024-2029 gubernatorial election.
