Get Support For 62 Political Parties Chairs Forward To The East Java Gubernatorial Election, Khofifah : Victory Is Getting Closer

JAKARTA - The candidate pairs for Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak officially received a recommendation from the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

Khofifah and Emil have now been promoted by 7 political parties (political parties) to re-run in the 2024 Pilkada, namely Gerindra, Golkar, Democrats, PAN, PPP, PSI and PKS. One non-parlementary political party of the East Java DPRD, namely Perindo, also provided support.

In total, this incumbent pair has received an incumbent on 62 seats in the East Java DPRD from the seven political parties. This number is more than sufficient to meet the 20 percent nomination threshold or 24 seats in the East Java Pilkada.

"Hopefully the victory will be closer. Of course, thanks to God's help, the synergy between all the supporting parties and their cadres will become a strength that God SWT will open the way for the upcoming election of governors and deputy governors on November 27," said Khofifah at the PKS DPP Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, July 18.

The number of political parties that have stated their bearers, Khofifah admitted that she and Emil are ready to work harder in order to win the 2024 Pilkada contestation in East Java.

"Hopefully this strength will become more and more in line with us, more motivated, more enthusiastic to work hard to of course, we hope that God willing, to deliver our victory as Governor and Deputy Governor of East Java," said Khofifah.

In addition, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu admitted that his party was not in the ranks of Khofifah-Emil's supporters in the 2018 gubernatorial election. However, Syaikhu admitted that his party saw that the pair proved to be able to run the East Java regional government for the 2018-2023 period well.

"In the process of traveling, we see that his performance in the local government is good. Moreover, there is an eco pesantren program, pays attention to Islamic boarding schools, as well as empowers their economy. Of course, we should appreciate this," said Syaikhu.

"Seeing the development of East Java like that, from the recommendation of the DPW, we agreed to give the mandate in the nomination process for the governor and deputy governor for Khofifah-Emil," he added.

After the commissioning recommendation, Syaikhu admitted that he would immediately instruct the ranks of the East Java PKS Regional Leadership Council to move to win Khofifah-Emil during the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada.
