Extreme Weather, Queensland Australia Snows For The First Time Since Almost 1 Decade

JAKARTA - Snow fell in the Scenic Rim area, Queensland, Australia for the first time since almost a decade.

The extreme weather that is felt to be nomal for the people in Queensland occurs as strong winds and cold temperatures continue to hit most of Australia's southeast region.

Citing News.com.au, this unusual moment was immortalized by Stanthorpe Holiday Park, which is located in Queensland. The outdoor tourist area uploaded a video on its Facebook account, when it snowed today, Wednesday, July 17 at around 7 pm local time.

The snow looks tiny and melts easily when it falls on the floor.

"Selju turun! A few hours ago, we were lucky enough to be able to see the snow for a few minutes. The last time we experienced this was on July 17, 2015 (almost exactly 9 years ago - we included an image at the end of the upload)," wrote the FB account Stanthorpe Holiday Park.

The upload was immediately grabbed by many Australian netizens. Many of them were amazed and wanted to go to Queensland hoping to feel the snow falling.

However, there are also netizens who feel it is impossible. "I can't believe it, we were there (three) last week and the weather was hot," wrote one netizen.

Light snowfall has also occurred in the Granite Belt region, southern Queensland since Tuesday and is expected to continue until tomorrow Thursday as temperatures drop below zero.
