US Base In Western Iraq Attacked By 2 Trap Drones

The trap's Duadrone (unmanned aircraft) has attacked the US-controlled Ain Al-Asad airbase in Al Anbar Province in western Iraq, but the base was not damaged in the incident.

"Two trap drones have attacked the Ain Al-Asad base in the west of the country; one of them was shot before reaching its target," a source in the international counterterrorism coalition told Sputnik.

"The other one reached the base area and has been shot down on top of the waste site without causing any damage," the source said.

Since the conflict in the Gaza Strip escalated in October 2023, the US and coalition forces in Iraq and Syria have been repeatedly attacked by various rockets and drones.

Armed groups within the Islamic Resistance group in Iraq claimed responsibility for the attack.

The attack on various bases was a response to the actions of Israeli soldiers in Gaza and US support for the Zionist authorities, according to the group's statement.

There were almost no more attacks after the US base in Jordan was attacked in February, killing three US soldiers and injuring more than 40 people.

In response, the US launched airstrikes in western Iraq and territories bordering Syria.
