Usung Bogor Go Green, IPB, DPRD, And Bogor City Government Agree To Preserve Situ Gede Area

BOGOR - The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Forestry and Environment (HAE) IPB University, carried out Bogor Go Green activities to preserve the Situ Gede area, last Saturday. Also present at the event were PJ Mayor of Bogor, Hery Antasari and Chairman of the Bogor City DPRD, Atang Trisnanto.

In this activity, alumni and invited guests from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), West Bogor Sub-district Head, village heads from West Bogor District, and Pokdarwis helped clean the Situ Gede area while planting trees as a form of environmental conservation.

Atang, who is also an alumni of the Faculty of Forestry, IPB University, thanked HA Fahutan IPB for its real and constructive activities for the environment, especially in the Bogor City area.

"As an alumni, I am obliged to succeed in Bogor Go Green's activities. Thank you to HA Fahutan IPB for being the initiator. God willing, it is part of an effort to bring Bogor green without garbage," said Atang.

Furthermore, Atang also said that handling waste in Bogor City needs to be intervened with an adequate budget. Because, in dealing with waste and preserving the environment, a sustainable road map is needed.

"The point is that we will encourage the City Government so that how this waste is completed at the local level first. So the waste management can be productive goods, only the rest that cannot be processed, that's what we will bring to the TPA. Not all waste is finally brought to all TPA," explained Atang.

Di lokasi yang sama, Ketua HAE IPB Bambang Hendroyono, mengatakan kegiatan ini merupakan komitmen bersama para alumni di HAE IPB dalam kepedawatan lingkungan.

Bambang said, Bogor Go Green this year has the theme Disposal Image' with various real action activities such as planting trees, spreading tilapia fish seeds, cleaning around lakes, and providing productive tourism business assistance for Pokdarwis Situgede.

"We are all committed to the 8th Bogor Go Green, we prioritize collaboration for real actions that care about the environment and we name today there is a clean-up action, planting trees," he concluded.
