The South Sumatra Police Expressed The Motive For ASN In Palembang To Save 4 Illegal Guns And 327 Sharp Bullets

South Sumatra Police (Sumsel) revealed the motive of a state civil servant (ASN) in Palembang to store firearms or illegal weapons as collectibles. "MG, an ASN member of Kalidoni, Palembang, we secured today, for ownership of four illegal guns and 327 sharp bullets. MG keeps the rifle as a collection item," said the Director of General Crimes (Direskrimum) of the South Sumatra Police Kombes Pol M Anwar Reksowidjojo in a statement in Palembang, Monday, July 15, confiscated by Antara.

He said the MG case was revealed after reports from the public regarding illegal possession of firearms. Then the officers immediately went down to conduct an investigation operation.

The operation led by Kanit 3 Sub-Directorate III Jatanras AKP Ardan Richard Lebo visited the house of the suspect MG located on Jalan Major Zen, Yasyafa Housing, Sei Selayur Village, Kalidoni District, Palembang.

During a search of the house, the team managed to find two long-barreled firearms and two black 32 caliber Clocks and a silver chrome pistol with brown wooden handles along with five magazines.

"The firearms are stored next to the furniture cupboard and in the drawer of the table of the house," he said.

In addition, the team also managed to secure 327 ammunition of various caliber and brands including sharp bullets, weapons bags, and a number of other evidence.

"The team then secured MG for further examination and legal proceedings, the suspect was charged with Article 1 of the Emergency Law No. 21 of 1951 with a threat of 20 years in prison," he said.

Based on the results of the investigation, the suspect MG admitted that the number of firearms belonged to him and without permission he got by buying from a person with the initials RO who is currently being chased by officers.

"This perpetrator is an ASN who is in charge of one ministry. According to him, the weapon is a collection but is carried out illegally," he said.
