JAKARTA - Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) DPP Zulkifli Hasan assessed that the Hajj Special Committee (Pansus) should be formed after the Hajj is completed or all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims return to their homeland.
He explained that PAN in principle agreed that there would be a special committee, but the formation must comply with the rules.
"Well, we want to comply with the rules. The special committee can be done if the Hajj is finished, if I'm not mistaken, then on the 22nd it will be finished, then it should just be served," said Zulhas, Zulkifli Hasan's popular greeting, when met at the DPP Office of the National Mandate Party in Jakarta, Sunday.
In the schedule compiled by the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, the final wave of Indonesian pilgrims arrived in the country on July 22, 2024. The arrival of the last wave also marked the completion of the 1445 H/2024 M pilgrimage.

The Plenary Meeting of the 21st DPR RI Session Period V of the 2023-2024 Session Year at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday (9/7) approved the establishment of the Hajj Supervision Special Committee. The Hajj Supervision Committee consists of 27 people consisting of seven members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from the PDI-P, four members of the Golkar Party, four from the Gerindra Party, three from the NasDem Party, three from the Democratic Party, three from PKS, two from PAN, and one from PPP.
Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Muhaimin Iskandar when met after the Plenary Meeting explained that the Special Committee for Hajj Supervision will work quickly, because they will continue to work during the recess period.
Muhaimin continued that the special committee will evaluate the mistakes in organizing the Hajj this year so that the same problem, which can harm the next pilgrims, will no longer be repeated.
He emphasized the issue that needs to be the focus of the special committee evaluation, namely regarding the use of the regular Hajj visa quota which is not entirely given to pilgrims who have queued for decades, but instead given to special Hajj at a higher cost.
"Every year a special action must be taken through this Special Committee so that it does not happen and repeats itself," said Muhaimin.
